In a sudden spike in the cases of coronavirus, India reports 6,531 new cases while 7,141 recoveries have been reported in the last 24 hours. Active caseload currently stands at 75,841 while recovery rate currently is at 98.40%
The total Omicron variant of coronavirus case tally stands at 578, as released by the government. This happens to be the biggest one-day jump in the number of Omicron cases. It has jumped by 156 in the last 24 hours.
The variant has now spread to 19 states and UTs. Delhi has reported 142 Omicron cases so far, the highest among all states and UTs, followed by Maharashtra (141).
