The Samajwadi Party is going to announce a poll alliance with Azad Samaj Party led by Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Aazad on Saturday.
Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election, Bhim Army chief Chandra Shekhar Aazad on Saturday announced that his party, Azad Samaj Party, will fight the state polls in alliance with the Samajwadi Party (SP).
Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav and Chandra Shekhar Aazad are going to hold a press conference at 12.30 pm on Saturday.
Speaking to India Today, Chandra Shekhar Aazad said, “The alliance has been confirmed. That’s why I am going there [for press conference]. I will tell the press at 10 am on what terms everything has been decided.”
However, Azaad avoided divulging details about the seat sharing agreement with the SP.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Janwadi Party (Socialist), Apna Dal (Krishna Patel), Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia (PSP-L), and Mahan Dal.
By joining hands with the Azad Samaj Party, SP would look to tap into the Dalit voter base of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
