BJP president J.P. Nadda asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to achieve significant victories in the upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, following its success in Haryana. Speaking after offering prayers at the Shri Naina Devi temple in Bilaspur and performing ‘Kanjak pujan,’ Nadda credited the party’s achievements in Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir to the people and divine blessings.
In his address to party workers, Nadda highlighted that despite an “illusion” created about the political environment in Haryana, the reality favored the BJP, which won the polls and increased its vote share in Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized the strong support from various demographics in Haryana, including youth, farmers, and women, who responded to opposition parties and reaffirmed their belief in Prime Minister Modi’s policies and leadership.
Nadda pointed out that voter turnout in Jammu and Kashmir surged from 6-8% to over 60%, reflecting public trust in the democratic process and support for the scrapping of Article 370. He noted that under BJP governance, terrorism is under control, and the party’s aim is not merely to remain in power but to ensure the safety of the nation.
The BJP recently achieved a hat-trick of victories in Haryana, successfully halting Congress’s comeback efforts. In Jammu and Kashmir, the BJP won 29 out of 90 seats, while the National Conference-Congress coalition is expected to form the government in the Union territory.
Nadda also reiterated the developmental projects accomplished during the BJP’s tenure in Himachal Pradesh, citing improvements such as the provision of tap water to households and road connectivity to villages. He contrasted the BJP’s focus on development with what he described as Congress’s history of “divide and rule” and vote bank politics, urging voters to remember these distinctions when casting their ballots.
