E- Commerce Guidelines for Consumers

The Government has drafted new rules to regulate e-commerce. The draft rules have been uploaded on the Department’s website for stakeholders’ consultation. The salient features of the draft e-commerce rules are focussed towards protecting the interests of the consumers before, during and after purchase from e-commerce companies.   This information was given in a written reply by the Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Shri. Danve Raosaheb Dadarao in Rajya Sabha today.

Asia biggest growth market for Netflix since 2017

Netflix’s Asia business has been its biggest area of growth after the past three years. Ahead of its Q4 results, the company has filed its 8-K that revealed details on Netflix’s regional businesses. Cellcom Israel has announced the plans for CEO Nir Sztern to resign after eight years as CEO. It is believed that Sztern is the frontrunner take up the reigns as CEO of Paz Oil, after the energy company’s CEO quit over disagreements with the chairman. Alibaba Singles’ Day sales break past records, touches $30 billion

Chinese retailer Alibaba Group said on Monday that sales for its annual Singles’ Day shopping blitz crossed the $30 billion mark at 4.31 pm (0831 GMT), putting the event on track to set a record in its 11th year. Government e-Marketplace (GeM) has signed MoU with Indian Bank and Canara Bank. The MoU will facilitate a cashless, paperless and transparent payment system on the portal and would create an efficient procurement system for government entities. Coal India to produce one billion tonne of coal by 2024

Minister of Coal & Mines, Shri Pralhad Joshi said that the Coal India Limited (CIL) will produce 750 million tonnes of coal by the Financial Year 2020-21 and would further produce one billion tonneof coal in the financial year 2023-24.
