The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has commenced its 2025 board examinations with an unwavering focus on transparency, fairness, and efficiency. With over 42 lakh students appearing across 7,842 exam centers in India and 26 other countries, the board has implemented stringent security measures and guidelines to maintain the integrity of the examination process. From real-time surveillance to strict entry protocols, CBSE has left no stone unturned to ensure a seamless and credible assessment process.

Exam Schedule and Guidelines

The CBSE board exams began on February 15, 2025. On the first day, Class 10 students are appearing for English (Communicative) and English (Language & Literature), while Class 12 students are writing their Entrepreneurship paper. The exams will be conducted daily from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with strict rules to ensure discipline and prevent malpractice.

Entry Guidelines for Students

Students must report to their centers by 10:00 AM sharp; latecomers will not be allowed.

Students must stay in the exam hall until 1:30 PM.

Regular students must carry their admit cards and school ID cards, while private candidates need a government-issued photo ID.

School uniforms are mandatory for regular students, while private candidates should wear light-coloured clothes.

Prohibited Items in Exam Centers

To prevent unfair practices, CBSE has banned the following items inside exam centers:

Electronic gadgets: Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, earphones, microphones

Accessories: Wallets, handbags, goggles, pouches

Enhanced Security Measures: CCTV Surveillance & Strict Monitoring

CBSE has reinforced security measures to uphold transparency and prevent any irregularities:

  • CCTV cameras installed in every exam hall for real-time surveillance.

 

  • Each classroom will have 24 students, monitored by two invigilators.
  • Assistant superintendents will oversee surveillance for every 10 rooms.
  • Schools failing to provide CCTV footage upon request will face strict penalties for non-compliance.

CBSE’s Commitment to Fair and Stress-Free Exams

CBSE Chairperson Rahul Singh reaffirmed the board’s commitment to ensuring a fair, secure, and stress-free examination process. He emphasized measures such as model question papers, strict transportation protocols for question papers, and advanced monitoring mechanisms to maintain exam integrity. He also encouraged students to stay calm and confident.

Updated Mark Verification and Re-evaluation Process

To enhance transparency in result processing, CBSE has refined its mark verification and re-evaluation system. Students now have the right to:

  • Request photocopies of their evaluated answer sheets.
  • Apply for mark verification if they suspect discrepancies.
  • Seek re-evaluation if they find any errors upon scrutiny.
