CM Naveen Patnaik‘s property recorded a dip in a statement of assets and liabilities released by the Odisha government. The Health and Family Welfare Minister is the richest, while the Steel and Mines Minister is the poorest.

The Odisha Government has released a statement of assets and liabilities of the Council of Ministers, including Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

The statement that recorded the financial status of the ministers till December 2021 was uploaded on the official website on Friday.

According to the official figures, CM Naveen Patnaik owned property worth Rs 64.97 crore as of December 31, 2021. The figure recorded a marginal decrease against the previous year’s Rs 64.98 crore.

CM Patnaik’s movable property included Rs 94.41 lakh as bank deposits, Rs 5,033 as post office savings, Rs 1.11 lakh as fixed deposit, Rs 9 crore as RBI bonds, Rs 1 crore as post office term deposit, Rs 3.45 lakh worth of jewellery, and Rs 6,434 worth Ambassador Car (1980 Model).

Patnaik’s immovable assets included two inherited properties, a two-thirds share in ‘Naveen Niwas’ worth around Rs 9.5 crore and a 50% share in the property at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Road, New Delhi, worth around Rs 43.3 crore.

Odisha’s Health and Family Welfare Minister Naba Kishore Das, who represents Industrial City Jharsuguda, is the richest minister in Naveen’s Cabinet, with properties of Rs 32 crore.

Das disclosed that his wife had 75 vehicles, of which 18 were procured in 2021 alone, in her name. And all the vehicles were commercial ones valued at Rs 15 crore. Besides vehicles owned by the minister, which included a Mercedes Benz valued at over Rs 1.14 crore.

Odisha’s Steel and Mines Minister Prafulla Kumar Mallik is among the poorest members in the Cabinet, with total assets valued at around Rs 42.37 lakh as of 2021 that include both immovable and movable properties.

While his immovable assets were Rs 34 lakh, the movable properties were valued at Rs 8.3 lakh. Prafulla Kumar Mallik had no liabilities.

Mallik’s immovable properties included agricultural land and residential houses in Baligorada and Kamhakyanagar. Mallik had Rs 38,000 cash in hand, while his wife had Rs 25,000.
