Amit Shah’s First Words: A Nation Will Strike Back

In his first public response following the horrific April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Union Home Minister Amit Shah sent a thunderous message: “Chun chun ke badla lenge” — we will take revenge, one by one. Speaking with solemn determination, Shah vowed that India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership will give a “precise and fitting response” to terrorism, making it clear that no act of terror would go unanswered.

“This is not the India of the past. This is Narendra Modi’s India — we will not forget; we will not forgiveIf anyone sees cowardly attacks as their victory, they are mistaken,” Shah warned, invoking the national will to eradicate terrorism from every corner of the country.

A Deadly Attack in Pahalgam

The April 22 terror strike, one of the deadliest in recent years, targeted unsuspecting tourists at Baisaran meadow, a picturesque site in Pahalgam, Kashmir. 25 tourists and one local lost their lives in the brutal ambush by militants who reportedly used the terrain to their advantage, launching the attack after hiking to the remote area.

Following the attack, Amit Shah immediately travelled to Srinagar, where he met the families of the victims and paid his respects. Speaking with grieving families, he assured them that justice would be swift and unforgiving: “The perpetrators of this attack will not be spared.”

A United Nation Rallies Behind the Government

Across political and ideological lines, the Pahalgam attack has stirred a rare sense of unity. Citizens and leaders alike are rallying behind the government’s call for justice, demanding a bold and clear response. Amit Shah noted that not just India, but the world stands with the country in its fight against terrorism.

“All 140 crore Indians are united,” Shah said. “And today, even the international community recognises India’s right to protect its people. This is a global fight — and the world supports us.”

Owaisi Surprises Many: “Go and Take Over Vacated Launch Pads”

In a striking show of support, even AIMIM chief and frequent government critic Asaduddin Owaisi urged the Modi government to take decisive military action. Speaking to the press, he responded to reports that Pakistani troops were vacating posts and that their families were fleeing, saying, “If the place is empty, then take it over. This time, don’t stop — go and sit there.”

Owaisi referenced Parliament’s longstanding resolution that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) is an integral part of India. “What are you waiting for?” he asked. “Act now. Don’t repeat 2019’s mistakes — acquire those launch pads. POK belongs to us, and we must act accordingly.”

Citing past terror atrocities — including 26/11, Pulwama, and attacks in Hyderabad — Owaisi made a fervent appeal for unity and boldness: “From Hyderabad to Vaishno Devi, we’ve paid in blood. Enough is enough.”

The Message Is Clear — Pakistan Must Face Consequences

The Pahalgam massacre has reignited national outrage and hardened India’s resolve. India has already begun diplomatic retaliation, suspending the Indus Waters Treaty talks and cancelling visas of Pakistani nationals. But as public pressure mounts, a stronger military and strategic response seems imminent.

The government now stands at a critical juncture. The public, the opposition, and even international allies are looking for more than words. The message is unmistakable — any further tolerance of cross-border terrorism could risk national security and public confidence.

India must consider concrete steps — seizing vacated terror infrastructure across the LoC, tightening counter-terrorism operations, and reinforcing global diplomatic isolation of Pakistan. The memory of Pahalgam’s victims demands action — and a future where such horror never repeats.
