Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday, slammed the Congress-led Chhattisgarh and said the party has degraded the condition of the state. Addressing a public meeting in poll-bound Chhattisgarh’s Jagdalpur, PM Modi said: “Congress has made ‘Loktantra’ as ‘loottantra’ and ‘prajatantra’ as ‘Parivartantra.”
“Everyone is fed up with this Congress government in Chhattisgarh. Corruption and crime are at their peak in the state. Sometimes it seems like Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are competing with each other over the crime rates,” the Prime Minister said.
PM Modi went on to say that in Chhattisgarh, development is seen either on posters or in the lockers of the leaders of the Congress government. “Chhattisgarh is demanding change,” he added. Intensifying his attack on the Congress, PM Modi in Bastar said the party neglected the region of Chhattisgarh for decades.
“Congress has neglected Bastar for years. They never thought about the people’s interests. BJP has done several development works here. You all know that as compared to Congress, the BJP gives five times more budget for the tribal people here,” PM said.
He said Congress gave a ‘Jhutha prachar aur ghotalebaaz sarkar’ in Chhattisgarh. Intensifying his attack, PM Modi said: “Congress has a track record of looting natural resources of the state.” “The entire country is watching the condition of Chhattisgarh that the Congress has done in the last five years. Corruption is rampant all across the state,” he said.
The Prime Minister said the Congress government in Chhattisgarh wants to capture the steel plant and earn a lot of money doing so. “Congressmen want to make the steel plant a medium to fill the coffers of their children and relatives, but Modi will not allow this to happen because the owners of the steel plant are the people of Bastar,” the PM said, adding, “I will not allow any Congressman to become the owner of this plant.” “The steel industries developed here will provide jobs to more than 55,000 people. More steel industries are to be set up here, giving jobs to more than one lakh people. In the upcoming years, youngsters from across the nation will come to Bastar for employment,” PM Modi said.
“Chhattisgarh is known for steel manufacturing. We are focusing more on infrastructure development,” the PM said. The Prime Minister further said, “The vision of developed India will be fulfilled when every corner of the country will be developed… Physical, digital, and social infrastructure are crucial parameters for a developed nation.”
He further said after the electrification of the railway network in Chhattisgarh, Vande Bharat train is also being operated. “In the upcoming years, all the stations of the state will be developed and transformed by the Central government,” he said.
