Hospitalisations have increased, most patients infected with Omicron: MD, LNJP Hospital
“The number of hospitalisations has increased from 10-15 to 35-40 per day. So far, we have received 188 Omicron cases from airports in the last 5 weeks. Omicron is observed in the majority of patients, only 15-20 per cent are diagnosed with Delta variant,” Dr S Kumar, Medical Director at LNJP Hospital in Delhi, was quoted by ANI news agency.
59 new Omicron cases found in Kerala
As many as 59 more Omicron cases have been confirmed in Kerala. Out of the 59 confirmed cases today, 42 patients had travelled from low-risk countries, 5 from high-risk countries, and 9 contracted the disease through contact. Three patients had come from other states. The total Omicron tally in the state is now 480, said Kerala health department.

Gangster Suresh Pujari has been hospitalised after testing positive for Covid-19. He is in ATS custody. Pujari has more than 25 cases of extortion against him in Mumbai. He was recently deported from the Phillipines to India and handed over to Maharashtra ATS.
