Indian cricketer Deepak Chahar was all smiles after Chennai Super Kings‘ match with Punjab Kings on Thursday evening in Sharjah. This is despite Super Kings’ loss against their opponent; the reason being the bowler proposing to his girlfriend after the match.
“Picture says it all. Need all your blessings #taken” wrote Deepak announcing his engagement on social media.
IPL team CSK also uploaded a video of the proposal on their social media as Deepak is seen surprising his girlfriend in the stands after the match.
KL Rahul’s unbeaten 98 meant Chennai finished on the losing end of the match but Chahar was all smiles as he celebrated his engagement.
Chennai Super Kings was one of the first teams to qualify for the IPL 2021 playoffs along with Delhi Capitals and Royals Challengers Bangalore who also booked their spots.
Chahar is touted as one of the best performers for the Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021 so far. He has been leading the bowling attack with great effectiveness, continuously troubling batters in the powerplay as they have looked to attack Chennai.
Chahar has bagged 13 wickets in as many games this season with a best of 4/13 and an average of 30.23, thus reserving a spot in the Indian team’s T20 squad for the upcoming men’s T20 World Cup in UAE and Oman. His economy rate is 8.36.
