The incident pertaining to the case happened in 2013 when the Solar scam broke out. Former Kerala CM, VS Achuthanandan, said in a TV interview that one of the companies involved in the scam was formed under former CM Chandy’s leadership.
Adefamation case filed by Kerala’s former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy against former CM VS Achuthanandan has been ruled in Chandy’s favour. Achuthanandan has been ordered to pay Rs 10.10 lakhs as compensation to Chandy.

They allegedly had help from people in the then CM’s office. The scam was what brought the then United Democratic Front (UDF) government to tatters.
