Even as the fight for ‘real’ Shiv Sena continues, Eknath Shinde announced new appointments to party posts on Wednesday.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced new appointments for the Shiv Sena faction led by him on Wednesday.

Kiran Pawaskar and Sanjay More were appointed as party secretaries, while Deepak Kesarkar, Uday Samant, Gulabrao Patil and Sheetal Mhatre were appointed as spokespersons. Balaji Kinikar was appointed as treasurer.

Eknath Shinde distributed appointment letters for the Shiv Sena posts on Wednesday.

This comes as the fight for ‘real’ Shiv Sena continues between the Uddhav faction and the Shinde faction. Eknath Shinde had rebelled against Shiv Sena president and then Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray last month which led to the downfall of the Thackeray-led MVA government in Maharashtra.

As the fight for the party reached the Election Commission, the poll body has asked both the Shinde faction and the Uddhav faction to submit documents supporting their claim on the party.

Meanwhile, the Uddhav faction has filed a petition in the Supreme Court demanding a stay on the ongoing proceedings in the Election Commission. The Supreme Court is set to hear the matter along with other petitions on August 1.
