Gyanvapi Masjid survey over; Shivling found in well, says lawyer

The video survey of the Gyanvapi Masjid has concluded, A report will be submitted in court tomorrow.

The court-mandated videography survey of the Gyanvapi Masjid complex was completed today, May 16. Nearly 65 per cent of the exercise was completed yesterday.

Vishnu Jain told Aaj Tak/India Today TV over the phone, that a shivling was found inside the well. He said he would go to civil court to seek its protection.

Heavy security was deployed as the court-appointed committee reached the spot to conduct the survey.

Gyanvapi Mosque, adjacent to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, is currently facing a legal battle. A court in Varanasi has directed the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) to probe the structure of the Gyanvapi Masjid.
