PM Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah are all set to begin their Gujarat tour on Saturday. Read on to find out the importance of their visit and their itinerary.

While PM Modi will visit the poll-bound state for a day, Shah will stay there for two days.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a mega event in Patidar-dominated Saurashtra to woo the Patel voters.
Patidar votes are very important for the Gujarat assembly elections. Patidars are said to be the king-makers for the assembly elections.

After the 2015 Patidar Andolan, many were unhappy with the BJP, which showed in the results of the 2017 elections.

The BJP, too, had several Patels as the CM of Gujarat. The current chief minister, Bhupendra Patel, too comes from the Patidar community.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi knows the importance of Patidar voters and therefore PM Modi will address a mega event in the Patidar-dominated belt. From south Gujarat to Saurashtra and north Gujarat, all areas are Patidar-dominated.

n Saturday at 10 am, PM Modi will be visiting the 200-bed-multi specialty hospital managed by Shree Patel Seva Samaj at Aatkot in Rajkot district. Built at the cost of Rs 40 crore, it will be a charity hospital and the cost of treatment will be much less.

After that, PM Narendra Modi will be addressing a crowd of over 3 lakh people, said the BJP officials.

Later in the day, at 4 pm, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a seminar of leaders of various cooperative institutions at the ‘Sahakar se Samriddhi’ event at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

Here, Union home minister Amit Shah too will be present and deliver a speech.

PM Modi will also inaugurate the Nano Urea (liquid) plant constructed at IFFCO, Kalol.

On Saturday, at 11 am he will visit Dwarka temple to pay obeisance. At 12 pm, he will visit and deliver a speech at the National Academy of Coastal Policing (NACP) in Okha, Dwarka.

At 4 pm, he will be with PM Modi at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar.

On Sunday, at 10 am, several programmes are lined up at Pachamrut Diary, Godhra, including the inauguration of the PDC bank’s new building and mobile ATM van.

At 12 pm, he will attend events of the Gujarat Police.

At 5 pm, he will take part in a ceremony at the Olympic-level sports complex in Naranpura, which will be built at a cost of Rs 632 crore.
