Notably, 61 percent of Indian institutions have surged in rank, with the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) securing the highest position among its peers.
Globally, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) retained its illustrious title as the world’s premier institute for the 13th consecutive year, underscoring its enduring excellence in academia.
IIT Bombay’s remarkable ascent is particularly noteworthy, catapulting from the 149th position in 2024 to an impressive 118th in the 2025 rankings, marking a substantial leap of 31 places.
