As Team India progresses to the final after overcoming the weather challenges in Guyana, the focus now shifts to Barbados, where an even bigger rain threat looms ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa. The grand finale will take place on Saturday, June 29, at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, a historic venue in the Caribbean.

This final promises to be a thrilling encounter between two of the best bowling attacks in the tournament. South Africa, making their first appearance in a men’s World Cup final, will face an experienced Indian team eager to claim the elusive trophy. India and South Africa have clashed six times in previous T20 World Cups, with India leading the head-to-head with four wins. However, South Africa emerged victorious in their last meeting on a challenging Perth wicket.

Barbados typically offers a balanced contest between bat and ball. India, having already won a game at this venue, will carry confidence into the final, whereas South Africa is yet to play here in the ongoing tournament. However, the weather could play a crucial role in the outcome of the match.

According to Accuweather, the weather in Bridgetown has shown significant improvement over the past few days. On the eve of the final, there was an early morning shower with high intensity, but it occurred on the other side of the island near the airport area, while the stadium in Bridgetown remained dry with some sunshine. A similar weather pattern is forecasted for Saturday.

At 6 AM local time (3:30 PM IST), there is a 51% chance of rain with a possibility of thunderstorms. This forecast continues for a couple of hours until 8 AM, when the rain probability decreases to 47% by 9 AM, just an hour and a half before the scheduled start of the match. By 10 AM, the forecast predicts cloudy skies with a rain probability of 29%, a significant improvement from the 75% predicted earlier.

Fans and teams alike will be hoping for clear skies and uninterrupted play as India and South Africa battle it out for the T20 World Cup 2024 title at the iconic Kensington Oval.
