The 14th round of Corps Commander-level talks between India and China will be held on January 12 to resolve the issue of disengagement from the Hot Springs area.
India and China are scheduled to hold the 14th round of corps commander talks on January 12 to resolve the issue of disengagement from the Hot Springs area.
“The Chinese side had to send up the invitation for the 14th round of talks. The talks are now scheduled to be held on January 12,” top government sources told India Today.
This would be the first meeting where Lt. Gen A Sengupta would represent India in the talks after he took over as the new 14th Corps Commander two days back, they said.
India and China have held 13 rounds of talks on the Line of Control to resolve the standoff.
Both sides have deployed a large number of troops in the area along with heavy weaponry. The infrastructure build-up has also been very heavy.
The two sides are looking at the resolution of the Hot Springs friction point, which emerged after Chinese aggression last year. The friction points on the banks of the Pangong Lake and Gogra Heights have been resolved.
