Mithun Chakraborty urges Partha Chatterjee to spill the beans on real owner of money, says ‘why suffer’

Actor-politician Mithun Chakraborty has requested the arrested West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee to reveal the names of the people involved in the scam as he believes the money recovered by ED is someone else’s.

As the Enforcement Directorate (ED) recovered another Rs 28 crore cash from the second apartment of Arpita Mukherjee, a close aide of arrested Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee, actor-politician Mithun Chakraborty requested Chatterjee to reveal the names of the people involved in the scam

He requested the West Bengal minister to spill the beans. He said that he did not believe that Partha owned all the money.

Mithun added that Partha must have been the custodian of the money which belonged to someone else and he must speak out now.

“Why suffer in jail?” asked Mithun.

Apart from the cash, ED recovered over 5 kg gold and several documents from the apartment, days after recovering Rs 21 crore from Arpita’s first flat. Officials, who took 10 hours to count the money, said a huge amount of money was recovered from the toilet.

The senior TMC leader was arrested under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering (PMLA) Act after the ED recovered Rs 20 crore in cash from the house of a close associate of the TMC minister, Arpita Mukherjee, on July 22 in a raid at night.

Partha Chatterjee was arrested by the ED on July 23 morning in connection with its investigation into the alleged teacher recruitment scam.

Meanwhile, Mithun warned the Bengal government o Wednesday saying that over three dozen Bengal MLAs from the Trinamool Congress are in contact with the BJP and that a Maharashtra-like situation could happen in the state any day.
