New India Conclave, the non-government rural outreach programme organized by Y4D Foundation in association with Dalmia Cement and NGOs – Avanee Foundation and Aga Khan Rural Support Programme, is an endeavour to celebrate several unsung heroes of rural India. The New India Conclave is the first of its kind, comprehensive platform for discussions and deliberations for rural transformation in India. Rural achievers from across the nation will be participants at the conclave.

The Conclave will be graced by the presence of Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and dignitaries like Chief Minister of Meghalaya – Conrad Sangma; Chief Minister of Nagaland – Neiphiu Rio and Chief Minister of Maharashtra – Devandra Fadnavis. Also present at the event in New Delhi on July 16, 2018 will be New India Conclave ambassador, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, and Olympic Wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt. New India Conclave creates an opportunity and platform where leaders of the country, social activists, entrepreneurs, policy makers and youth will discuss various ideas for rural transformation. The Conclave will also be an opportunity to interact with opinion leaders in the field of rural and agricultural development from Israel and the USA.

The Conclave will have panel discussions on ‘Rural Development and Youth Participation’, ‘Skilling Needs and Business Opportunities in Rural India’, and ‘Ways of Sustainable Rural Development’. NGOs, corporates, bureaucrats, academicians and social activists like Dr. Prakash Amte, Shri Mayank Gandhi and Ronnie Screwvala, among others, will also take part in the discussions. Additionally, the Conclave participants will also get an opportunity to address issues they face in their field of work.

Commenting on the response of rural achievers, Praful Nikam, Y4D NGO said, “The response we have received from the people of the country is very encouraging and heartening.  The inspiring stories of the participants are motivating and inspiring. It is our aim to reach the New India Conclave to even more villages of the country next year and learn more about the endeavour of individuals working towards a New India”.

Y4D NGO and its partners will continue to work towards making this a long term, sustainable movement for rural transformation. The New India Conclave will be held on an annual basis, with the aim to continue working towards encouraging positive rural transformation and progress.

A key associate and event partner of New India Conclave, Dalmia Cement, through its various CSR initiatives has been contributing to the cause of nation building since years.

Avanee Foundation, too, has been intensively involved in creating work opportunities for urban as well as rural youth to provide them with the right foundation and right education, ultimately realising their vision of transforming an entire nation.

Speaking on behalf of Avanee Foundation Avantika Dalmia, Chairperson, Avanee Foundation said, “We are proud to associate with this event to recognize achievers who have done exemplary work in rural areas, through the New India Conclave. Inspiring youth is one of the key tenets of Avanee Foundation and we recognize that the rural youth exhibit equal passion and innovation as the urban youth; they just lack equal opportunities. Roughly 66% of India’s population reside in rural areas. Yet, the contribution of the rural economy is only around 16%. If India has to grow at 9-10% per annum, the rural sector has to be revitalized to contribute more.”
