The Noida International Airport is gearing up for its much-anticipated launch in June 2025, marking a major milestone in India’s aviation sector. The UP Government has confirmed that the airport will commence domestic operations first, with international flights following shortly after. The deadline for completing the international terminal is set for June 25, 2025, but the full operational readiness may extend to July-August due to ongoing construction.

SPeaking with media, Arun Vir Singh, the Chief Executive Officer of the Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), said that the Uttar Pradesh government has directed the airport’s concessionaire — Yamuna International Airport Pvt Ltd (YIAPL) — to speed up work so domestic flight operations can begin anytime between May 15 and 31 and international flights between June 15 and 25.

This phased airport opening in June ensures early access to Noida air travel, allowing passengers to use domestic services while the remaining infrastructure is finalized. Authorities believe this approach will accelerate connectivity for passengers and boost regional economic growth.

As one of the key airports in India, Noida Airport is expected to enhance connectivity in Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh, providing a modern, world-class travel experience. The project is a crucial part of the country’s aviation expansion, offering a new gateway for both domestic and international travelers.

The first phase of Noida International Airport was originally set to open on September 29, 2024, but the deadline was later revised to April 17, 2024. Due to further delays, the airport is now expected to receive its aerodrome license in May, causing another shift in its operational timeline.

Following a review meeting on March 10, chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, officials decided to impose financial penalties on Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) for the delays. “The concessionaire was instructed to comply with contract terms regarding delay penalties, and a fine of Rs 10 lakh per day has been imposed on YIAPL,” Singh stated.
