Former President of the United States, Barack Obama has denounced Hamas’ attack against Israel and called it ‘horrific.’ Barack Obama took to his X handle and posted about Hamas Attack Anniversary on October 7.

He said that a year ago, Hamas launched attack against Israel that killed over 1400 Israeli citizens. He referred to these citizens as defenseless women, children, and the elderly. He said that the Hamas kidnapped more than 100 people.

Obama mentioned that the peace seems more distant than ever. He said despite the odd circumstances, hope for a return of all the hostages continues. He also hopes for putting end to the violence and rejection of hate.

He wishes for a future which is better for both Israel and Palestine and where they enjoy security and stability.

He wrote, “One year ago, Hamas launched a horrific attack against Israel, killing over 1,400 Israeli citizens – including defenseless women, children, and the elderly – and kidnapping hundreds more. Today, the prospects of peace seem more distant than ever. But we continue to hope for a return of all the hostages, an end to the violence, a rejection of hate, and a future in which both Israelis and Palestinians can enjoy the security and stability that most of them yearn for.”

Earlier also, Obama had criticized the Hamas’ attack on Israel. He said, “What Hamas did was horrific and there’s no justification for it, and what is also true is that the occupation, and what is happening to Palestinians, is unbearable.”
