Odisha Congress on Thursday staged a dharna to protest against the ED’s repeated questioning of Rahul Gandhi.

Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee led by PCC Chief Sarat Pattnayak along with other senior leaders held a demonstration in front of Raj Bhawan on Thursday protesting against the ED’s repeated questioning of Rahul Gandhi and alleged police excess at the party headquarters in the national capital.

Taking to India Today, PCC Chief Sarat Pattnayak claimed that the manner in which Delhi police had forcibly entered the Indian National Congress headquarters at 24 Akbar Road and did not allow party office bearers and workers from entering it “has never been seen in independent India.”

The Delhi police imposed section 144 in front of the Congress headquarters and did not allow office bearers from entering the premises and those who protested were charged with batons. Under whose instructions such acts are being done?” asked Patnaik.

Paitnaik threatened saying that if the questioning of Rahul Gandhi doesn’t stop, the Congress Party will hold statewide agitation to protest against the marathon questioning of Rahul Gandhi by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) over the charges of money laundering in the National Herald case.

Leader of the Congress Party in Odisha Assembly Narasingha Mishra alleged, “It is the country’s misfortune that the party which had opposed India’s freedom struggle, is inspired by the thoughts of Nathuram Godse and was hoisting black flag instead of the national flag for 52 years is now in the seat of government of the country.”

Youth Leader Niranjan Nayak said party leaders and activists will also demonstrate in front of all central government offices at the district level on June 17 against police excesses on workers.
