Arvind Kejriwal, during his address to Delhi Vidhan Sabha, said that BJP has been misusing public funds to poach MLAs.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, while addressing the Delhi Legislative Assembly on Friday, called out the conspirators of the current political situation in Delhi. He said that anti-national powers have joined forces to overthrow the AAP government in Delhi after they can’t digest India’s progress.

All of us Indians have to come together to defeat them,” he said.

CM Arvind Kejriwal stated, “The Delhi government’s work is bringing praise to the country, globally, India is being appreciated in international forums. All these anti-nationals conspired to file a fraudulent FIR against Dy CM Manish Sisodia and defamed him with allegations of a liquor scam.

“The FIR states that one vendor paid Rs 1 crore to another vendor through a bank transaction, what has Manish Sisodia got to do with their trade? The CBI raided Manish Sisodia’s house for 14 hours, but couldn’t find a penny to incriminate him,” he said while noting that the raids on Sisodia’s residence came ahead of Gujarat polls and allegations would be revoked if they announced that AAP would not contest elections.

“People are saying all of this is happening due to the Gujarat elections; if we step back from the fight, all the cases will be closed,” the CM argued. “The public knows when AAP comes to power in Gujarat in December they’ll get BJP’s 27-year-long rule audited, due to which we face investigation over investigations at present,” said the Delhi chief minister.

‘BJP’s fight is not against corruption’

“Their (BJP) fight is not against corruption, ‘Operation Lotus’ is a method of grabbing power by deceit. So far, these people have brought down the governments of Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Arunachal, Manipur, and Meghalaya. They have bought out 277 MLAs so far. If we assume the lower side of 20 crores per MLA, then they have spent at least Rs 5,500 crores so far in horse-trading,” the CM said.

In a sharp attack on the opposition, CM Arvind Kejriwal said, “There’s a man at the helm of this nation’s powers who is sucking the blood of the poor to fulfil his lust for power; how can this be acceptable to us anymore? He went atop the Red Fort to seek public support saying he was fighting corruption; if he was actually fighting corruption, he wouldn’t have needed to ask for public support.”

“If I know one thing, it is fighting against corruption. I fought in Delhi, and the Delhites came to support me without me ever asking them to. The people of this country are looking at you, making a joke of an anti-corruption call, you’re not fighting corruption, you’re fighting for your lust for power,” said the AAP supremo.

Arvind Kejriwal proposes vote of confidence in Delhi Assembly

CM Arvind Kejriwal further proposed a vote of confidence in the Vidhan Sabha. The AAP Government will take the floor test on August 29.

“I want to bring a motion of confidence in the Assembly, so it can be proved before the people of Delhi that BJP’s ‘Operation Lotus Delhi’ has become Operation keechad (filthy),” he said.

Speaking about Manish Sisodia, the CM said, “If you ask them who is the Education Minister of India, they would not be able to tell their name. If you ask people the name of the Education Minister of India, nobody knows their name. I was watching a video on social media in which the host asked a child, ‘Who is the Union Education Minister of India?’ The child promptly said ‘ Manish Sisodia.’ The host then asked ‘Who is the Education Minister of Uttar Pradesh?’, the child said ‘Manish Sisodia’. When asked who the Education Minister is of Rajasthan, the child said that there is only one Education Minister in this country. Even if you ask the people in the US ‘Who is the Education Minister?’ They are also saying it’s Manish Sisodia.”

He further spoke about the sacredness of democracy and said, “This news (Sisodia’s mention in The New York Times) was published on August 18, 2022, and exactly one week later, another news was published in the same newspaper, the New York Times. The title of the article was ‘Modi’s India is where democracy dies’. It was quite heartbreaking when news which brought disgrace to the country was published in a newspaper in any part of the world. It brings immense pain to every Indian.”

Today, the Delhi Government is probably the only government in the country doing such remarkable work and is being praised all around the globe, he said.

“However, all the anti-national forces, who hate this country and are jealous of the progress and development of the country, who do not want to see the country grow, who have kept the country in shackles for 75 years for their vested interest are now conspiring to stop us and derail our work by all possible means. They know that until the AAP Government is not brought down, we will keep on working for the better of the country, something which they cannot digest. All the anti-national forces have ganged up against us,” he said.

He mocked the conspirators for shambolic planning and their subordinates for their lack of preparedness. He said, “As a part of their conspiracy, they targeted Manish Sisodia first. They planted a frivolous case against him that he had gobbled funds under the garb of excise policy.”

Speaking about CBI-led raids on Sisodia’s residence, Kejriwal said, “By the end of the day, they (CBI) could not even find a penny which was unaccounted for. No cash, jewellery, property papers or incriminating documents were found. Around 30-35 officers came for the raid and they could not even recover the money for food they would have had that day. It’s been 8 days since the raid was conducted and not even an iota of evidence was recovered. It was a fake raid.”

He said, “We were trying to figure out why they conducted a raid and the very next day, Manish Sisodia got a message. They said that the top brass of the party (BJP) had sent this message. They were asking him to quit AAP and bring a few MLAs to tear apart the party. We are about to bring down the AAP Government soon under Operation Lotus and you will be coronated as the Chief Minister of Delhi within 10 days. They also said that all the CBI-ED cases would be shut down.”

He also appreciated his MLAs for foiling Operation Lotus and questioned the illicit source of its funding. He said, “When this gimmick made them fall flat on their faces, they targeted our MLAs. 12 of our MLAs have told me that they have been offered Rs 20 crore to switch sides and if they bring 2-4 MLAs with them, they will get Rs 25 crore. Or else, they will have the same fate as Manish Sisodia.”

“They have kept Rs 8 hundred crores somewhere and are running ‘Operation Lotus-Delhi’. Everyone is curious about where these Rs 8 hundred crores are and who got them such a whopping amount? I will reveal in this Assembly who got them these Rs 8 hundred crores,” Kejriwal said.

He said, “Today, every citizen of India is under extreme stress due to inflation. Diesel has touched Rs 90 per litre today against Rs 54 in 2014. Petrol was Rs 60 in 2014, now it is Rs 110. CNG was Rs 35 per litre, now it is Rs 75. The LPG cylinder costed Rs 410, now it costs Rs 1153. Vanaspati Oil was Rs 70 per litre, now it is Rs 170. Salt prices doubled from Rs 7 to Rs 15. It is impossible for the aam aadmi to run their household today. All the tax collected is being spent on only two things. First, waiving off loans to help their super-rich friends and second, to buy MLAs.”
