Due to speculation that Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao might call for early elections, political parties like the TRS, BJP, Congress and AIMIM have intensified their campaigns in the state.

While the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has hired the political strategy group Indian Political Action Committee (IPAC) for its campaign, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is banking on its top guns, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Amid speculation that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao might call an early election in the state, political parties have intensified their campaigns in Telangana.

PM Modi will visit Hyderabad on May 26 to hold a meeting with the BJP leaders in the state. BJP president JP Nadda participated in a mega public meeting in Mahabunagar on May 5. Soon, Amit Shah followed suit, addressing a mammoth gathering on the outskirts of Hyderabad on May 14.

Meanwhile, Congress ex-president and MP Rahul Gandhi, who was in Telangana for two days this month, is the star campaigner for Congress.

Amid all of this, Hyderabad sitting MP and All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief, Asaduddin Owaisi, also hit the streets to hold down his bastion.

The AIMIM president, along with MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, fixed nameboards on houses of the party’s primary presidents (Booth President) in Yakutpura Constituency.

The party is planning a similar identification and appreciation of AIMIM booth presidents in all the assembly constituencies under the Hyderabad parliamentary segment. The party is also engaged in mega membership drives to strengthen and widen its base.

The next Telangana legislative assembly election is scheduled to be held in or before December 2023
