Rahul Gandhi gets Election Commission’s notice over objectionable remarks on PM Modi

Rahul Gandhi’s comments, deemed by some as derogatory, were made in the context of recent political discourse. The Election Commission, responsible for ensuring fair play and maintaining the integrity of the electoral process, has intervened to address the language used by the Congress MP.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has taken action against Congress Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi, issuing a formal notice regarding his recent remarks targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The notice specifically addresses Gandhi’s use of terms like ‘panauti’ (bad omen) and ‘pickpocket’ in reference to the Prime Minister. The ECI has directed Gandhi to provide a response to the notice by November 25.
