After the murder of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena’s national president Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi in broad daylight in Jaipur, Rajasthan, protests took place throughout the state including the capital on Wednesday. The agitators appeared furious at many places. On Wednesday, the effect of Rajasthan Bandh was seen in many districts, while the ongoing agitation ended late Wednesday night.
Sukhdev Gogamedi’s wife Sheela Shekhawat announced to end of the protest outside Metro Mas Hospital in the capital Jaipur. However, earlier she had talked about continuing the agitation even after agreeing on 11 points. But the protest was ended after the second round of talks.
After the protest ended, the police took Sukhdev’s body to SMS Hospital for post-mortem. Where the post mortem was done late at night. The body was taken from the capital Jaipur to Hanumangarh in the morning. Where the last rites will be performed.
In the second phase of talks, the police gave written assurance to Sukhdev Gogamedi’s wife Sheela Shekhawat that the accused would be arrested within 72 hours. Apart from this, the SHO was suspended and the beat in-charge and beat constable were removed. The last rites of Sukhdev will be held in Gogamedi on Thursday.
The mortal remains of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi were kept at Rajput Sabha Bhawan at 6:45 am today. After that the last rites will be performed in the native village at 2 pm.
Rajput community and supporters of Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi have decided to perform the last rites of Gogamedi after agreeing on 11 demands. The Rajput community has agreed with the administration on 11 demands like investigation by NIA, judicial inquiry into the shortcomings, security to the family members of Gogamedi and giving a government job to one person from the family.
