In its star campaigners’ list, the Samajwadi Party has names like Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, Shivpal Yadav, Dimple Yadav.
Shivpal Yadav is among the list of star campaigners for the Samajwadi Party for the upcoming phases of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. This follows after the Election Commission of India (ECI) further eased the curbs imposed on poll campaigning, restoring the number of star campaigners for a party in the ongoing state Assembly polls.
The EC stated that recognised national and state parties can field a maximum of 40 star campaigners, while other parties which are registered but not recognised, can now have 20 star campaigners.
On Monday, the Samajwadi Party released the list of star campaigners. The names of Mulayam Singh Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, Kiran May Nanda, Prof Ram Gopal Yadav, and Dimple Yadav are also included in the list. In the remaining phases, Dimple Yadav will also campaign for Samajwadi Party. Swami Prasad Maurya was also included in the list of star campaigners.
Shivpal Yadav’s name was among the star campaigners and he will campaign for the Samajwadi Party in the remaining phases of Uttar Pradesh polls.
On Sunday, polling was held for the third phase of UP Assembly elections. The seven-phase polling in the state started on February 10, with the fourth phase on February 23, fifth phase on February 27, sixth phase on March 3, and seventh and the last phase will be conducted on March 7. The counting of votes will be done on March 10.
