Stone hurled at Chandrababu Naidu’s convoy in Andhra’s Nandigama

A stone was hurled at the convoy of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N Chandrababu Naidu at Nandigama in the NTR district, Andhra Pradesh, on Friday.

The incident triggered tensions in the town and the Jaggayyapeta Police has been placed on high alert. Naidu’s Chief Security Officer (CSO) Madhubabu was injured in the attack.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Mary Prasanthi and other senior police officials reached the spot with additional forces.

Vijayawada Police Commissioner Kanti Rana Tata said, “The incident took place at 6:30 pm. One stone was thrown by unknown miscreants. The details are being verified and more details are being collected. The CSO Madhav was injured on his chin and he was treated for it.”

Naidu’s son, Nara Lokesh, condemned the incident. He took to Twitter and wrote, “I strongly condemn the attack by rowdy mobs on the convoy of Opposition leader Chandrababu. Jagan Reddy, the palace cat, was reduced to the plight of pelting stones in the dark.”

He further added, “A thorough investigation should be conducted. The bullies who committed the attack should be punished. I wish CSO Madhu, who was injured in the attack, a speedy recovery.”

CHANDRABABU CALLS FOR DEFEATING YSRCP

During the roadshow, N Chandrababu Naidu called upon the people of the state to defeat the YSRCP in the coming elections as all the sections in Andhra Pradesh are facing trouble in every aspect.

Addressing the roadshow at the Gandhi Centre in Nandigama, Naidu said that if the people want a peaceful atmosphere, the only option is that the TDP should come back to power.
