Congress MLA from Chittapur assembly seat Priyank Kharge said that the newly sworn-in Siddaramaiah government will not hesitate to ban any organization, including the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) if it tries to disrupt communal harmony in the state.
Taking to Twitter, Priyank Kharge said ” If any religious or political outfit tries to disrupt peace, spread communal hatred and bring disrepute to Karnataka, our Government will not hesitate to tackle them legally or ban them. Even if it is RSS or any other organization.”
Earlier during the Karnataka Assembly polls, the Congress in its election manifesto had promised to ban the Bajrang Dal. The manifesto had sparked massive controversy, with the RSS and the BJP slamming the Congress over its poll promise.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also attacked the Congress party on the issue of the Bajrang Dal ban and said “First they (Congress) locked up Lord Ram and now they have vowed to lock up those who chant Jai Bajrang Bali.
“It is the misfortune of the country that the Congress had a problem with Lord Ram and now it has difficulty with those who say Jai Bajrang Bali,” he further added.
Minister Priyank Kharge said the Congress government will act against peace-disrupting religious and political outfits, including the RSS.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh RSS is an Indian right-wing, Hindu nationalist volunteer organization that is the progenitor and leader of a large body of organizations called the Sangh Parivar which has developed a presence in all facets of Indian society and includes the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Founded on 27 September 1925, the initial impetus of the organization was to provide character training and connect “Hindu discipline” in order to unite the Hindu community and establish a Hindu Rashtra Hindu nation. The organization aims to spread the ideology of Hindutva to “strengthen” the Hindu community and promote an ideal of upholding Indian culture and its civilizational values.
