In Andhra Pradesh, NDA secured a historic mandate winning 164 of the 175 assembly and 21 of the 25 Parliament seats. The Telugu Desam Party National President N Chandrababu Naidu is slated to become the Chief Minister for the fourth time.

With the TDP- BJP-Jana Sena combine securing a historic mandate, the party cadres are in jubilant mode. This massive victory comes after the Telugu Desam Party was reduced to just 23 seats in 175 seats state assembly in 2019. The Jana Sena party which faced electoral debacle in 2019 with its Chief Pawan Kalyan losing both the seats he contested, has now won all the 21 seats it contested with Pawan Kalyan winning the Pitapuram assembly seat with a margin of over 70,000 votes.

The Amaravati farmers who gave their land under the land pooling scheme have called off their 5 year agitation with Chandrababu Naidu making a comeback and rekindling the hope that Amaravati will be developed as a world class city. With the Telugu Desam Party becoming a key player in the NDA coalition, people of Andhra Pradesh are hopeful that important projects like the Polavaram Multipurpose Project and the proposed capital city of Amaravati will get the support and assistance of central government.

Meanwhile Mr Chandrababu Naidu who is in New Delhi to attend the NDA meeting has reaffirmed his support to the NDA alliance. The details of swearing in of the new government in Andhra Pradesh are likely to be known on Thursday (6th June 2024). Governor of Andhra Pradesh has dissolved the state legislative assembly today and asked Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy to continue as caretaker Chief Minster until the new government is sworn in.
