Union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti hit out at the Opposition, saying those who have not seen poverty cannot even understand the pain of the poor.

Targeting non-BJP governments, Union minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said those who have not seen poverty cannot even understand the pain of the poor.

Speaking at a program for the underprivileged people in Agra on Wednesday, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said the previous governments had only made fun of the poor.

She also praised the Centre for working on the principle of multi-culturalism along with nationalism.

Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said that now no farmer gets caught in the quagmire of moneylender’s interest. She further said that today the farmer class of the country is in a happy condition.

“Today the women of the village do not have to go out of the house to defecate,” she said.

Union Minister of State SP Singh Baghel, who was also present at the event, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi understands the pain of the poor and thus he has launched schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Ayushman Yojana, among others.

BJP MP from Fatehpur Sikri Raj Kumar Chahar said that Fatehpur Sikri has been deprived of drinking water since the time of Akbar. Now the people of Fatehpur Sikri will get sweet water of river Ganga to drink, he said.

Yogendra Upadhyay, MLA of Agra South region and a minister in the UP government, told India Today that the work and progress that was not done in the country in 70 years has been done in just eight years under PM Modi.

Upadhyay said that due to the efforts of central and state governments, Agra is getting Ganga water and people are relieved. Along with this, soon Sarojini Naidu Medical College in Agra is being built at the level of AIIMS, which will prove to be a big achievement in Uttar Pradesh.
