In the history of the Champions Trophy, India and Bangladesh have clashed only once in which two great batsmen of Team India crushed the neighboring team and made them realize what champion batsmen are. This match was the semi-final match of the 2017 Champions Trophy in which India won by 9 wickets.

Bangladesh had set a target of 265 runs in front of the 2013 champion team. With a strong score, Bangladeshi fans must have dreamed of defeating India and reaching the final of their first major ICC tournament. But it did not take much time for Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan to shatter those dreams. The right-handed opener hit his 11th ODI century and India chased down the target and registered a win.

When Bangladesh was eliminated in England

In the second semi-final of the Champions Trophy, India defeated Bangladesh by nine wickets and made it to the finals for the second time in a row. Chasing a target of 265 runs, Team India lost its first wicket at 87 runs. Shikhar Dhawan missed a fifty and was dismissed after scoring 46 runs off 34 balls. After this, there was a partnership between Virat Kohli and Rohit which had all the colours of batting that fans go to the stadium to see. Rohit played the ball late especially with brilliant batting, but still managed to hit boundaries on a regular basis. Bangladeshi fast bowlers tried to get him out, but this trick of Rohit also failed because he was an expert in handling short balls. Rohit did not give Bangladesh a single chance except the outside edge on the third man boundary. Rohit Sharma returned unbeaten after scoring 123 runs. Virat Kohli (96*) became the batsman to complete 8000 runs in the least number of innings. There was a partnership of 175 runs between the two batsmen and Team India achieved the target in 41 overs.
