Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, while speaking at the foundation-laying ceremony of a government medical college in Sultanpur, announced that the UP govt will be providing laptops, tablets to students from November last week to better equip them with the latest technology so that they can benefit from online studies.
The distribution of smartphones and tablets will help students to complete their courses successfully as many students faced technological issues during the lockdown which directly impacted their studies.
The state government in a statement said that smartphones and tablets will be distributed free of cost among the youth enrolled in various teaching/training programmes like graduation, post-graduation, diploma, skill development, paramedical and nursing etc in the state. The youth enrolled in the higher education, technical education, health education, skill development training, ITI and ‘Seva Mitra’ portal of the state will also get the benefit.
“In order to equip the youth of Uttar Pradesh with the latest technology so that they can benefit from online studies, we will start distributing tablets and laptops from the last week of November,” Yogi said at the ceremony.
He said that the state government is striving towards providing employment to the youth. “In 4.5 years, 4.5 lakh youth were given government jobs,” Yogi further said.
