Assembly polls in Punjab, Uttarakhand and Goa will be held in a single phase on February 14 while voting in Manipur will be held in two phases on February 27 and March 3. Uttar Pradesh will vote in seven phases to elect 403 MLAs between February 10 and March 7. The counting of votes will take place on March 10. As the EC has banned all physical rallies till January 15, political parties are gearing up for digital campaigning in the poll-bound states.

Former Uttar Pradesh minister Dharam Singh Saini, who quit the BJP on Thursday and joined hands with the Samajwadi Party, told Aaj Tak, “One UP minister and one BJP MLA will resign each day till January 20.”
Asked why he left the BJP, Saini said he wasn’t being heard. “There was no one to listen to what I had to say. There was a time when 140 MLAs sat on dharna and they were threatened,” he added.
