UP polls: BJP MLA Sahendra Ramala’s convoy attacked during roadshow

MLA Sahendra Ramala’s supporters were thrashed during a roadshow in Chhaprauli constituency.

Aroadshow convoy of MLA and Bharatiya Janata Partys candidate for the Uttar Pradesh elections Sahendra Ramala was allegedly attacked recently.

Many of his supporters were beaten up and pelted with stones.

Sahendra Ramala is the BJP’s candidate from the Chhaprauli constituency, where he was conducting the roadshow.

Videos of the incident went viral on social media. The videos showed that an attempt to attack Sahendra Ramala was also made but thwarted by the security personnel present at the spot. His supporters were, however, thrashed with sticks and rods.

Ramala demanded strict action against the culprits. “The Opposition is scared of the public support to BJP. That’s why they attacked my convoy,” he said, adding that even women were not spared by the attackers.

The roadshow was being attended by hundreds of people. There were cars and tractors as well. As soon as Ramala reached the spot, the culprits emerged from the crowd and mounted the attack.

On the basis of the videos, some people have been identified. Three persons have been detained by the police. I shall visit the incident site. All necessary legal measures are being taken,” said Neeraj Kumar Jadaun, SP of Bagpat
