Signify illuminates government senior secondary school in Gopalganj, Bihar

Signify has recently illuminated the government senior secondary school at Barauli in the Gopalganj district of Bihar, under its Jagmag Pathshala CSR program, in association with FINISH society and Pandit Banaras Tiwari Hemvanti Devi Foundation. The event was inaugurated by leading Bollywood actor Shri Pankaj Tripathi, District Magistrate of Gopalganj; Shri Dr Nawal Kishor Choudhary; and Nikhil Gupta, Head of Marketing & Integrated Communications and Commercial Operations, South Asia at Signify.

As a step towards creating a brighter future for the children, Signify has installed a 4.5 KW solar power plant that can provide clean and sustainable energy to 13 classrooms in the school. It will also reduce the school’s dependence on traditional electricity sources, lower the operating costs and the school’s carbon footprint in the long run. The company has also installed 96 energy-efficient LED Battens and 73 energy-efficient high speed fans in the school, to create a more comfortable and conducive learning environment for more than 500 students studying in the school.

Students are the future of our country and with our school lighting CSR program ‘Jagmag Pathshala’, we aim to create a brighter future for them by bringing solar-powered lighting to their schools. We are delighted to illuminate the government senior secondary school at Barauli in Gopalganj, Bihar with a 4.5 KW solar plant that will power the new energy-efficient LED lighting and ceilings fans in the school, enabling a better learning environment in the school. The solar power plant will also allow the school to be energy self-reliant and sustainable in the long run.
