After the drone attack on the Kremlin residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, by Ukraine, Moscow is left with no option other than the physical elimination of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy- deputy chairman of Russia’s Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev said on his Telegram channel, according to News Agency. According to Medvedev, Zelenskyy “is not even needed for signing an instrument of unconditional surrender.”

Earlier, Russia alleged that there were attempts by Ukraine to assassinate President Putin, saying it was a “terrorist attack” while claiming it shot down drones over the residence of Putin. Russian President Vladimir Putin did not get injured in the overnight drone attacks on Kremlin and Russia considers the drone attacks, an attempt on President’s life, President’s press service announced, Russia’s leading media reported.

Meanwhile, Kremlin’s spokesperson has shared the details related to the Kremlin attack. “The head of State was not in Kremlin at the time of the ‘Ukrainian UAV attack’ he said. Further, he added that the Russian president had continued to work as per schedule and the plans remain unchanged after the attack. The drones were destroyed using electronic warfare measures and caused no casualties or damage, read the press release published on the official website of the Russian president.

The Kremlin also noted that the Russian side reserves the right to take reciprocal measures as it sees fit, reported the leading media. The spokesperson added that the incident won’t interfere with the Victory Day parade that is scheduled to take place on May 9 on Red Square.

May 9 dubbed as the “Victory Day” by Russia marks the victory of the then Soviet Union’s Red Army in defeating Nazi Germany in World War II. Russia holds a military parade on Red Square in Moscow. Officials in Russia traditionally stand on the tomb of Vladimir Lenin in Red Square on May 9 as a symbolic gesture. Russia organizes a grand military parade and flypast to mark the WWII Victory Day. It is also speculated that he will make a statement to mark the symbolic occasion. It is being reported that Russia could be planning to declare or even annex a “people’s republic” in the southeastern city of Kherson of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has denied that his country was responsible for what Russia says was an assassination attempt against Russian President Vladimir Putin. ” We fight on our territory; we are defending our villages and cities,” said Zelenskyy during a news conference in Helsinki, Finland.
