iVOOMi has celebrated this International Women’s Day with the most fearless and courageous women of India. The brand stands by the NGO’s vision to give all the survivors a fair and equal chance to make their place in the society like any other common, competent and Independent individual.
The iVOOMi team spent a whole day with a few Acid Attack survivors associated with the Atijeevan Foundation, listened to their experiences and how they had gathered the courage to rise above the painful incidences in their lives. To applaud their commitment towards Life, iVOOMi gifted the survivors their shatterproof range of smartphones, to propel the idea that their dreams and hopes shall never shatter.
Commenting on the same, Ashwin Bhandari, CEO, iVOOMi, says, “We envision a world where women from all groups, ethnicities and economic backgrounds are free to live their lives with complete autonomy. The main idea was to encourage these women and bring about a change in their lives. These women are not victims but survivors.”
The government has also been taking several initiatives and has issued guidelines for free treatment of accident, acid burns and fire victims. This covers all kinds of medical facilities, including private establishments and nursing homes.
Atijeevan Foundation registered under The Society’s Act, 1860 is working for empowerment and rehabilitation of acid attack survivors.
