SEEDS (Sustainable Environment and Ecological Development Society) has organized a community drive at Rajkiya Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya (RSKV), West Vinod Nagar, Preet Vihar division, to educate students and the public on Fire Safety. The volunteer engagement activity was part of its Honeywell Safe Schools Program and held to commemorate National Fire and Evacuation Drill Day celebrated on January 21 every year.

During the fire safety drive, an innovative ‘Fire Hazard Hunt’ was organized wherein groups of students, teachers and volunteers were briefed about safe locations in the school buildings that should be used during a fire emergency. The activity was aimed to help students identify potential fire hazard places, threats, available resources to reduce fire accidents & counter emergency situations, and best practices to prevent fire.

Following this, an Evacuation Drill was conducted within the school premises with 200 students participating in the same. Additionally, SEEDS team and Honeywell India volunteers demonstrated a fire dowsing exercise for students and school staff using fire extinguishers, sand buckets as well as water buckets.
