The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is all set to organise a national meeting in Delhi to boost resistance against the BJP’s alleged Operation Lotus.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is all set to organise a national meeting in Delhi on Sunday to boost resistance against the alleged Operation Lotus launched by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to poach legislators from other parties.

The Rashtriya Janpratinidhi Sammelan will be led by the party’s national convenor and Delhi CM, Arvind Kejriwal. The conference will bring together every single public representative of the party, said the AAP.

Besides Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann will participate in the conference at the party headquarters in Delhi along with all MLAs and MPs from Delhi, Punjab and Goa. AAP’s councillors, zila panchayat members, chairpersons, mayors, clock pramukhs, sarpanchs and pradhans from across the country will also join in.

Arvind Kejriwal will hold a discussion with the representatives on strengthening the party in view of ‘Operation Lotus’ across the country.

The preparations for the Rashtriya Janpratinidhi Sammelan are going in full swing. The conference will see the presence of 62 MLAs from Delhi, 92 MLAs from Punjab and two MLAs from Goa. AAP’s 10 Rajya Sabha MPs from Delhi and Punjab will also attend the conference.

Earlier, under Operation Lotus in Delhi, senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, was threatened by investigative agencies and even lured with the offer of the CM’s seat. When they could not break him, an attempt was made to buy out several AAP MLAs by offering them Rs 20 crore each. Under Operation Lotus, every possible attempt was made so that the Aam Aadmi Party government could be brought down in Delhi,” the party said.

“But thanks to the honesty and integrity of the Aam Aadmi Party MLAs and their commitment to the public, Operation Lotus failed in Delhi. After failing in Delhi, Operation Lotus was carried out in Punjab. In Punjab, 10-12 MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party were contacted and offered Rs 25 crore each, but Operation Lotus failed there too. The Aam Aadmi Party exposed both the cases in front of the media,” said AAP in a statement.

Apart from this, the expansion of the Aam Aadmi Party across the country will be discussed. The issues of the public representatives will be heard at length so that concrete initiatives can be taken to strengthen the organisation, said AAP
