Another Batch of 5,696 Amarnath Pilgrims Depart for Kashmir Valley Amid Tight Security

Jammu: This morning, another batch of 5,696 Amarnath pilgrims left the Yatri Niwas base camp in Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu, for the Kashmir Valley. The pilgrimage convoy, comprising 219 vehicles, departed amid tight security arrangements.

The pilgrims were divided into two groups based on their destination base camps:

  • Baltal Base Camp:
    • Total Pilgrims: 2,028
    • Breakdown:
      • 1,591 males
      • 360 females
      • 5 children
      • 64 sadhus
      • 8 sadhvies
  • Pahalgam Base Camp:
    • Total Pilgrims: 3,668
    • Breakdown:
      • 2,896 males
      • 651 females
      • 5 children
      • 103 sadhus
      • 13 sadhvies

From these two base camps in the valley, the pilgrims will proceed towards the holy cave shrine located in the Kashmir Himalayas.

The Amarnath Yatra is one of the most significant pilgrimages in Hinduism, attracting thousands of devotees each year. The tight security measures are in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants as they make their spiritual journey to the sacred shrine.
