The central government has set up a Central Advisory Council (CAC) to advice on matters concerning the implementation of the Real Estate (Regulation & Development) Act, 2016. The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs will be the Chairperson of the council that will comprise of total 30 members. The commerce ministry’s trade promotion body, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) plans to raise around Rs 1,500 crore through loans and by monetising some portion of land at Pragati Maidan in Delhi to part fund the Integrated Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre planned there.
