Delhi govt didn’t pay their share in Pragati Maidan project, says Piyush Goyal

Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that the Delhi government led by Aam Aadmi Party did not pay its share in the Pragati Maidan corridor project.

Union minister Piyush Goyal on Sunday hit out at the Delhi government for not paying their 20 per cent share in the Pragati Maidan transit corridor project.

Piyush Goyal said, “The entire project was supposed to be completed by the Union government while the Delhi government had to pay 20 per cent of the total cost. However, Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government didn’t pay their share, yet we completed the project.

“Kejriwal government has not done any work on infrastructure front in the national capital. It’s the Centre which has provided big relief to the Delhiites,” he added.

The union government has claimed that the tunnel will save fuel worth Rs 100 crore every year and it will help in reducing pollution.The commuters will be able to save fuel worth Rs 100 crore each year and additionally, this tunnel will help reduce pollution equivalent to five lakh trees. Indian culture and seasons are depicted through paintings on the walls of the tunnel. An advanced exhaust system has been installed in the tunnel,” he said.

PM Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated Pragati Maidan Integrated Transit Corridor project built at a cost of more than Rs 920 crores. The project aims to provide hassle-free and smooth access to the exhibition and convention centre being developed at Pragati Maidan.
