Detel Foundation, the CSR Wing of Detel was a proud sponsor at the first edition of First Women’s Basketball Association Gurugram 2019, which was held on 07th April, 2019 at Tau Devi Lal Stadium- Basketball Court. As part of this sponsorship, Detel rewarded the 58 participants Detel D4 Earphones.
The event was organized to encourage more and more women to take up sports and saw the participation of 12 top women basketball teams from Haryana and Delhi. The event was graced by the presence of dignitaries such as Mr. M.C Gupta, Former Chief Secretary of Haryana, Govt of India, Ms. Suman Sharma, first woman Arjuna awardee in basketball and Mr. Dalbir Singh Kharab, Secretary General of Haryana Basketball Association.
Commenting on the same, Gitika Bhatia, Founder, Detel Foundation, said “We are delighted to be associated with First Women’s Basketball Association, Gurugram. India’s sportswomen are breaking gender stereotypes unlike ever before, with players like Dutee Chand and Dipa Karmakar to Harmanpreet Kaur and PV Sindhu creating history in their respective sports. With our continuous efforts, we aim to empower children and specially women to pursue their passion in sports”.
Detel Foundation has worked towards various socio-economic causes. Last month, the foundation had sponsored URM’s 2nd edition of Kanyathon to spread awareness about sanitary hygiene where they gifted the winners of marathon.
