Rahul Gandhi was joined by ex-Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi at the Rajasthan leg of the Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra.
ormer Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Punjab MLA Sukhjjnder Singh Randhawa joined the Congress’ Bharat Jodo Yatra on Tuesday in Rajasthan’s Alwar. The yatra resumed on its 16th day in the first Congress-ruled state in its path with CM Ashok Gehlot and Rahul Gandhi leading the way.
Amid the ongoing political tussle between Ashok Gehlot and his bete noire Sachin Pilot, Rahul Gandhi held a closed-door meeting with the two leaders on Monday at a circuit house in Alwar. After the meeting was over, Rahul Gandhi told reporters that ‘good news would come soon’, news agency ANI reported.
The Bharat Jodo Yatra, which was launched on September 7 in Kanyakumari, has traversed Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and now, Rajasthan.
The yatra will enter Delhi on December 24 and after a break of about eight days, it will move on to Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and finally, Jammu and Kashmir.
