The upcoming gathering of the opposition alliance, the ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ (India), scheduled between December 17th and 20th, is anticipated to focus primarily on the critical issue of seat sharing among its constituent parties for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections-2024. Insider sources revealed this information, emphasizing the importance of a swift decision on seat allocation.

While the specific date for the meeting remains undecided, sources suggest that it will take place during the third week of December. Many members within the ‘India’ alliance are urging a prompt resolution on seat distribution across various states, aiming to provide candidates with ample time for campaigning and a thorough assessment of ground-level situations.

A meeting held on Wednesday brought together parliamentary party leaders from the 17 constituent parties of the ‘India’ alliance. A meeting of the floor leaders of INDIA parties was held on Wednesday at Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s residence with a focus on discussing the parliamentary strategy for both Houses. Discussions during the meeting revolved around matters concerning the ongoing winter session of Parliament and strategic planning for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The Congress party announced that the precise date for the gathering of key leaders from alliance constituents would be disclosed within the next day or two. The ‘India’ alliance, comprising 26 opposition parties, has been formed with the objective of challenging the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections-2024.
