IndianOil Director (R&D) Dr SSV Ramakumar on Sunday launched a new Artificial Intelligence powered Intelligent Pigging Analysis Software on its 60th anniversary.
Intelligent Pigging is an inspection technique whereby an inspection probe, often referred to as a “smart” pig, is propelled through a pipeline while gathering important data, such as the presence and location of corrosion or other irregularities on the inner walls of the pipe.
On the occasion, the Director presented an overview of the software to Executive Director operations of pipelines division, Mr A K Tiwari.
Moreover, he also emphasised the importance of innovation in India and better reliance on technology invented by our nation as IndianOil’s R&D Centre is shaping into a game-changer in the ensuing competitive scenario as the Corporation adds new technologies, products and services to its bouquet of offerings.
The new Intelligent Pigging Analysis Software is based on Alethe Consulting’s MASS platform.
IndianOil also shares its business operations abroad through its overseas establishments in Sri Lanka, Mauritius, the UAE, Singapore, USA, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
