A Bengaluru based IT company owner on Monday has donated a DD of Rs 1 crore to Lord Venkateshwara at the Tirumala hill temple, with a request to use the fund for the temple-run Sri Venkateshwara Gosamraksha (care and protection for cows) Trust.

A senior temple official told that the devotee, Amarnath Chowdhary and his wife, after offering worship at the hill temple, handed over the DD to the additional executive officer of Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthan (TTD), A V Dharma Reddy.

TTD governs the shrine, and the payment was made under fulfilment of the vow made to the Lord Venkateshwara by the devotee for fruitfully running a software company floated 9 years ago in Bengaluru.

In 2019, the TTD had announced that donation of Rs. 10,000 would help devotees gain VIP ticket to the temple, thus helping them skip long queues at the temple and fast track their visit.
