Karnataka Election 2023 live updates: The election dates have been announced in Karnataka and in less than forty-five days, the state with 224 assembly seats will get a new ruling party and an in-charge. The Congress is all set to release its second list of candidates on Thursday at 11 am. With an eye on securing a historic second consecutive term in Karnataka, the ruling BJP is not only deploying political heavyweights on the campaign trail but also roping in “star power”. The saffron party has approached several Kannada actors, including Vikrant Rona star Sudeep Sanjeev, also known as Kichcha Sudeep. PM Modi is also set to visit the Bandipur Tiger Reserve and interact with frontline field staff and self help groups involved in conservation activities. He is also scheduled to visit the Theppakadu Elephant camp in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve and interact with field directors of tiger reserves that have scored the highest in the recently concluded 5th cycle of Management Effectiveness Evaluation exercise. He will also launch the International Big Cats Alliance (IBCA). Stay tuned with indiatoday.in for updates.

Veteran BJP leader BS Yediyurappa has expressed happiness over Kannada superstar Kichcha Sudeep’s support to the party and said, “He’s a famous film actor. It is helpful for BJP wherever he goes.”

A Shivamogga-based lawyer has written to the state poll body, seeking a ban on the relay of Kichcha Sudeep’s movies till the election was over on May 13. The lawyer, KP Sripal, wrote the letter hours after the Kannada superstar pledged his support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

The Central Election Committee (CEC) met for a very short time, and it will meet again tomorrow at 2:30 pm. A number of seats have been discussed and decided, and tomorrow by 11 am, we shall hand over the list,” Surjewala said on Wednesday, adding that the CEC will carry on discussions on the remaining few seats.
