LG K7 smartphones distributed at Samajik Adikarita Shivir, Navsari

At the Samajik Adikarita Shivir organized by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed Aids and Assistive Devices to more than 11000 Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjans) in Navsari District, Gujarat. LG was one of the many companies to have participated at the camp and it distributed its K7 phones to the Divyangjans.

LG has in total distributed 2,500 smartphones.

An LTE dual-sim smartphone, LG K7 is built with customized features for disabled people such as Screen reading S/W (TalkBack), English and Hindi TTS language download and enabled by default, cozDaisy Book reader App, @Voice reader App, eReader App, GPS essential app, Kota magnifier app, 3 books for Daisy reader, 2 word books, 2 PDF books, Message and call reading setting enabled by default and Playmagazine app.

The dignitaries who attended the programme includes the Governor of Gujarat, O P Kohli; Chief Minister of Gujarat, Vijay Rupani; Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, Thaawarchand Gehlot; Ministers of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athwale; Krishna Pal Gurjar; Vijay Sampla; Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Women and Child Development of Gujarat, Atmaram Parmar; Protocol Minister of Gujarat, Pradip Singh Jadeja; Member of Parliament, CR Patil; Prabhubhai Valsava; Darshnaben Jardosh; K C Patel, among a few.

During the event, a mini-film based on Divyangjan, for motivation of people was also screened. A Book named ‘Challenge the Challenge’ containing details of various noteworthy Divyangjans was also released. The children who have been able to speak and hear because of cochlear implant surgery specially greeted the Prime Minister on his birthday.
